its been a while

So things have been looking up lately. I sold an order last night from my old etsy shop Teekfashion.etsy.com. I was super excited. On another note life has been crazy . I am still preparing for the craft show in October and it just doesn't seem like there is enough hours in one day to get all the things I have lined up completed. I recently started knitting so I have a couple of scarves to put in my beppin.etsy shop soon. Other than that life has been pretty stable. I have been yaking it up with my aunts about our Halloween cruise next month. Ray seems like he is liking his job (the hour + commute is a killer though).

Peace out until later!

Crafty Thursday

Yeah Thursday is finally here. Did you know that Thursday is the new Friday. Well, I have been trying to do a lot of chatting and blogging lately to promote my etsy shop. I don't think it has quite been working out like I anticipated seeing that I haven't sold anything yet. I will have to start devoting way more time into blogging and getting the Beppin name out there in the world. anyhow...here are a few of the new items that I created for the shop...hope you enjoy:

Crafty Goodness

I scored some great fabric and yarn over the weekend. Now I have to find the time to start creating some things. I have been feeling super exhausted and drained lately. The thought of coming into my regular 9-5 is getting more and more draining each day. Its not that I don't like my job its the monotony of it all. I wish I could just craft away all day long. I am super sad that I haven't sold anything in my etsy shop. I have even reduced many of the prices. I think I might need some feedback on what is wrong with my site to get some sales going. The craft show is sneaking up on me and although I have a huge inventory, I just feel like I need more. I have about 12 tote bags, 30 necklaces, 5 anklets, 10 bracelets, 5 kids outfits, 2 quilts, & some other smaller items. I am going to keep plugging away though. I hope that I do get some sales on etsy though.

Dark Knight, Knitting, the weekend

OK, this weekend was a good weekend. I did a ton of crafting. I made some tote bags, some jewelry, some clothes. I was very productive. My stash for the craft show in October is becoming quite large.

Ray finally decided to switch his phone plan on over to T-mobile. Now we can talk all day whenever we want without being charged minutes. I just love the my fav five! Yes! We went to the mall and browsed around. Don't you just hate how everyone and everything looks the same at the mall. Too bad everyone can't just be themselves...I guess that would make for an interesting society. On another note I found out that my supplier of fabric (Walmart) will be getting rid of their fabric section! Those corporate people don't realize the impact that this is going to have...they are the DEVIL! I guess I am going to have to save up and buy as much as I can once they clearance everything to get rid of it. It sucks because that means that in my area Joann fabrics will capitalize on everything...not that I don't like Joann fabrics, its just their fabrics are way more expensive. I knitted the most amazing scarf this weekend. This is how I did it:

How to knit a scarf:

Supplies: large knitting needles

1 package of yarn

Directions: Cast on 13-15 (depending on the width you want) regular loops and continue this until you have the desired length you want. Tada you will be finished!

Great Movies

The Dark Knight has to be one of the best movies that I have seen to date. Ray and I went to see the movie last night at 9:30. Little did we know that the movie was 2.5 hours long, but it was the best 2.5 hours spent watching a movie. This movie had action, love, thrills & chills. I am not going to give it away, but it was better than Titanic (to me) so I see why it is breaking so many records. The movie also gave me some great Halloween costume ideas. I am thinking I will either be the Joker, Batman himself, or possibly the scarecrow....or maybe none of the above.

Later! =)

Its Friday....Straight hair, Food, Fun, Crafts& I hate ballys Gym!

This is Ray and I above. Can you believe that I took the plunge and straightened my once Kinky Coily hair; it was needed though I had to trim those dead ends off. I didn't use chemicals to straighten it. I went to the wonderful Dominican salon that I use to go to when I had chemically processed hair and they used they hottest hair dryer and rolling brush along with a flat iron and some hair products to get it straight. I absolutely love it. It amazes me that last year I had no hair on my head (my decision to buzz it all off). I am super excited about the growth and how healthy it is. Ray and I have been some little piggies lately or just flat out lazy. We have almost eaten out everyday this week. This is completely not us but neither one of us felt like cooking at all. I have been a die hard sewing/crafting junkie. The other night I made a quilt, some necklaces and some other things; none of which will be in my etsy shop. I am saving these goodies for my craft show on October 18. This will be the first time that I have displayed my creations in a show. I am SUPER excited and nervous at the same time. Hopefully I sell something and don't end up sitting there looking silly. Ray said that he would keep coming up to my table to buy things to draw people to my table if I don't have any buyers (isn't he sweet) Lol.

I am on a mission this weekend to not spend any money on more crafting supplies but to use the ones that I have. Sometimes I get the junky fever and keep buying and buying things when I haven't even used the stuff that I already have in the house. Life here in New England has been crazy lately. Ray got a new job so we will be moving soon. It is going to change a few things...he will now be leaving before me each morning and getting home around 7:00. I guess Gizzy and I will be doing a lot of bonding together. It is starting to feel like fall here. My skirts and short sleeve shirts will be retired soon. It is time to break out the long sleeve shirts and the sweaters! NOOOOOOOOOO! This only means that the snow is right around the corner!

Oh I almost forgot that I wanted to blog about our experience last night at Ballys Gym. Now I know every Ballys in the country is not like this, but this one put a sour taste in my mouth. Ray, Theo (our good friend/workout buddy) and myself decided to go to Ballys after our stair workout because Theo has a membership there. Once we got there we assumed that we were going to be able to use a gift pass to get in since Theo is a member. No, the lady behind the counter says to me "sorry you need to sign up" who in the world would sign up for something without trying it out. So I looked at this guy who was also behind the counter and I asked him if he could help us out so we could try the gym for the day. He says to me "do you really want to buy a membership" I reply "I would like to try it out so I can make that decision (knowing I didn't want to) he says back to me " I really don't think you do" then he precedes to say the pass is for locals only...let me inform you that he ASSUMED we weren't local. I said " Look buddy you either let us try out your gym so we can DECIDE if we want a membership or we are walking out. Let me tell you...this guy and the girl back there both looked like they just got finished eating an entire COUNTRY BUFFET!...the entire freaking Buffet (they did not motivate me at all). I looked at him like buddy just give me the freaking pass...needless to say the atmosphere and people made us never want to go there again. This whole experience was like a smoker trying to sell that smoking is bad to another smoker (what in the world). News flash for Ballys...your employees and customer service SUCKS! I just had to vent a little. Thank goodness it is Friday.

Smoothches...until later

The Mall is the Devil

Why do I always seem to find something to buy in the freaking mall. We went there after work to just "browse" who the heck was I kidding. I knew from the moment I walked into the entrance of Macy's and saw the huge "SALE" sign that it was hooked lined and a sinker!!! I scored some shirts, perfume, sweater, and a jacket. Trust me...it all was great buys. No single item cost me more than 10 buks. Don't you just love how the stores lure you in with 75% of sales and it just happens that everything is in your size....and for me that is a miracle. I am not built like the "average," (what ever "average" is suppose to mean) girl. I have long arms, broad sholders very long legs and a relatively short torso, small waist, a butt, thighs, and no hips. Yup so you can see when it comes to finding something in my size that fits well and is on sale...I am all in! I am not one of those people who goes out and splurges on expensive clothes. JUST BECAUSE PEOPLE WEAR EXPENSIVE DESIGNER CLOTHES DOES NOT MEAN THEY LOOK GOOD IN THEM! Haahahahahahahaha.

The end of the weekend

I am sad that Sunday is come and basically gone. Today was a great day though. I got to sleep in until 10:30 this morning. Ray and I had to be at the track for a long workout at 11:30. My workout was hard. If you didn't know...yes, Ray and I train, run track and compete semi professionally. You definately should call it professionally for the amount of time I dedicate to it. My typical M-F is work 7 -8 hours at my normal job, come home for about 1/2 an hour then head to the track for parctice for 2 hours....get home, shower, eat, watch a little tv or craft, then off to bed. There typically doesn't leave much time for anything in between. Ray and I do try to sneak off and go on a date or just out and about but we often find ourselves heading to the dog park to let our little one run a muck. Sometimes it is so hard to be motivated to go out though because our bodies are mentally and physically tired from work and practice. I am not complaining because I wouldn't change it for the world. It all pays off when we compete in indoor/outdoor track and field USA Nationals or like 3 months ago the olympic trials. Its a sacrifice but a good one....plus, I wouldn't just want to come home a be a couch potato :)!!! Yup that is me above in action at the USA track trials...I am running down the runway. Whoever this photographer was (who took the pic)...he is amazing. I randomly found this pic of me surfing the net.
Ray and I went to see Hell Boy II at the Dollar Cinema (Actually $1.99) today. Let me tell you...that movie is amazing. I am a little partial these days when it comes to shelling out 10 bucks per person on a movie that might possibly suck so we waited until it went to the dollar cinema. I would have definately been pleased with spending the full price to see Hell Boy II though. It had action, romance, thrills...everything. If you have seen the movie you know there is going to be a par III if not...I just gave it away (oops). Yeah!!! My favorite character was the Prince. Talk about action and martial arts. Homeboy could kick some a__. :) AHHH I should be getting ready for work right now, but the thought of starting a long week at work is not thrilling...I think I will procrastonate for a while longer. Oh yeah I almost forgot....I had some free time today so I crafted a bit and made a bunch of new necklaces for Etsy. Check out my shop soon for some cool stuff.

Goodnight!

Saturdays are great

Today was one of those awkward saturday mornings. I should have known it was going to be awkward though. I was awaken by my dog barking. The power shut off and the sound of the fan stopping must have startled him. Needless to say I was so exhausted that it didn't even phase me and I went back to sleep. Ray managed to lock himself out of the house while walking Gizzy so I had no choice but to get up to the banging on the front window. I did some great shopping at JOann Fabrics today. I mostly bought stuff for jewlery making, some sewing materials here and there. I babysat the girls (Juliana and Mariah) this afternoon. They are always a joy to be around. We colored in their coloring books and I made them both necklaces with the beads of thier choice. I would have to say that today has been a plesant day. It rained most of the day so I haven't been out and about around the house like I normally would have.

I am out! :) That is all for Saturday

Yeah It is Friday

HAHAHA. I have been contemplating all morning what I would write for today's blog. First off I would like to say I had every intention last night to do a little etsy and craft show crafting. Needless to say that didn't happen. My wonderful fiance took me out to dinner. We ended up going to Dave and Busters, which has the best Salmon Chipolte Salad (so I thought). I pleasantly asked the server to make sure that my salmon was cooked very very well; almost blackened. When our food came out, the salmon was stinky (salmon shouldn't smell fishy if fresh) and you could still see the pinkish fleshy part of the salmon! Sorry...I am not one of those people who likes to eat anything remotely half cooked regardless if it won't harm you. I like my food cooked 110%. My fiance (Ray) got a salad too and it was drenched in honey mustard sauce. I think the cook must have been either falling asleep back there or just didn't give a (beep). Oh well, we didn't end up paying for dinner and walked out. So much for that night out. We went home ordered some Chinese food, watched the movie "Prom night" (lol), played with the dog, and that was that, until this morning I woke up with horrible stomach aches.

This morning I decided to wear the cute tan khaki skirt that I made a while back. I absolutely love it and I am so proud of myself. I also took my braids out last night so my hair is all over the place. I love it though and that is all that matters! :

Look at my little boy, isn't he the cutest puppy. I love him dearly. Thanks Mom for the wonderful B-day present! He is such a joy and one of the best additions to my life. Seriously I think everyone should own a yorkie! They are loyal and the scariest guard dogs (lol)!

Peace out!

Great Finda

So...I got me some great finds this past weekend. First...while browsing the labor day sales, I scored some 3.99 cute slides from Khols. Who could pass up an 80% off sale. I will have to post the pic of the shoes sometime later. They seem pretty comfortable, but the ultimate test will be wearing them allday. I also scored some great fabric from our local thrift store. They were having a 70% off sale for labor day on all blue tagged items...and I was thrilled that all the craft stuff was blue tagged. YES! I basically bought all the fabric. I got a bunch of great textures. The prices ended up ranging from $.25 - $1.00. There was also this great sewing machine that I had my eye on and but of course before I could make my way and dart to it, some older guy picked it up. All I could say in my head was (damn damn damn) the sewing machine was blue tag and originally priced at $20.00 which would have put it at a little over $5.00. Can't beat that...guess it wasn't ment to be.

On another note I purchased a loom yesterday and I am excited to start using it. Does anyone out there know how to use one? It came with instructions, but they minus well have been in russian to me (lol).
